    李慈铭（1830-1894）。初名模，字式侯，后更名慈铭，号莼客，又号爱伯，晚号越缦老人。会稽（今浙江绍兴）人。清光绪六年（1881）进士，官江南道监察御史。诗词古文，名闻天下。工书，善画山水、花卉。
    此联乃作者游绍兴柯岩胜迹后所题，结体平和，用笔舒缓，气息醇厚，颇具何绍基遗意，字里行间流露出文人雅士清逸超脱的心境，耐人寻味。国家二级文物。（孙小东）

Li Ciming’s Couplet in the Running Script
The Qing Dynasty

  Li Ciming (1830-1894) was a native of Shaoxing,Zhejiang,good at calligraphy,and exceling at painting landscapes and flowers.
  This work is a couplet with eight characters to a line,which was inscribed when the writer visited a scenic spot,Keyan Rock in Shaoxing.The characters are formed gently,written leisurely.The refined scholar’s mood of being elegant and leisured is revealed between the lines.
