    马琯，生卒年月不详，明画家。此作淡设色。月色下，三只秋雁一鸣一应，一只倦睡，芦苇穿插及残荷水鸟均极尽自然之态，意境萧疏中透露出生气。画面气韵苍浑奇逸、生动入神。墨色清淡雅致，用线肯定流畅。兼工带写，章法严谨。国家一级文物。（杨樵康）

Ma guan’s Picture of Reeds and Wild Geese
The Ming Dynasty
  Preserved by the Cultural Relics Administration of Shaoxing City Ma Guan was a painter of the Ming Dynasty.The work is in light color.Under the moonshine,there are three wild geese,one singing,the other responding and another sleeping.The reeds,withered lotuses and aquatic birds are all in the extremely natural state.The artistic conception of the picture is rare,vigorous and graceful.The ink color is light and elegant;the lines used are firm,but easy and smooth.
