    陈子和（公元15至16世纪），号洒仙，福建浦城人。初为塑工，后改习画。其画笔调简劲，气势放纵，是明代中期浙派名手。
    此作画面描绘汉武帝时苏武在北海雪地牧羊的情景。苏武头部微仰，斜看寒柯，两袖交拱胸前，扶节佩刀，正气凛然。背景用淡墨烘染，寒气逼人，烘托出主题人物威武不屈的忠贞气节。国家一级文物。（尹志红）

Chen Zihe’s Picture of Su Wu Tending Sheep
The Ming Dynasty

  Chen Zihe (between A.D.15th and 16th centuries) was from Pucheng,Fujian.He was a famous painter of Zhejiang school in the middle period of the Ming Dynasty.
  The general apparance of the picture shows the sight that Su Wu tends sheep in a snowfield in Beihai during the reign of Emperor Han Wu.The background is added with shading of light ink,the chill entering into the very flesh of the men.This set off the unyielding iintegrity of the leading character of the painting.
