    文房用具。端石制作，长方形，光素无纹，砚面开墨堂和“一”字形墨池，刻线流畅，制作工整，石质细腻润滑，砚岗右侧近砚池处有石眼。国家一级文物。（毛桂舟）

Chaoshou Inkstone
The eighth year of Chunxi during the reign of Emperor Xiao Zong of the Southern Song Dynasty

  It is a Duan inkstone made in Zhaoqing or Duanxi,Guangdong Province.It is rectangulau,smooth and plain without any pattern.On the face of the inkstone there is a mutang(a depression for grinding ink) and an ink pool in the shape of “一”.The inkstome is finely manufactured.The texture of stone is smooth.On the right side of the inkstone there is a stone “eyeball” near the ink pool.
